Flower Face Painting and Greenhouse Scavenger Hunt
January 29, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Free Admission

Come enjoy our free kid’s scavenger hunt through our warm and cozy greenhouse. Find everything on the list and win a small prize. Kids can also have fun at our nature-themed face painting station. All ages welcome.

Build a Terrarium
January 30, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
$35

Come learn how to make a terrarium! You will get to pick your glass, three plants and your soil dressing. Jenni will show you all of her tricks to make an outstanding terrarium! This workshop has a 20 person limit and is for adults only.

Cannabis 101
February 5, 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

This class is an introduction to growing cannabis. Nick will touch on all aspects of cannabis production from seed to harvest both indoors and outdoors. This workshop has a 30 person limit and is for adults only.

Valentine’s Day Paint a Pot/Plant a Seedling
February 6, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Paint a terra cotta pot for Valentine’s Day! Kids will get to paint their pot, pick out and then plant a small houseplant in their pot. This workshop has a 20 person limit. Ages 4 and up welcome.

Miniature Succulent/Foliage Gardens for Kids and Adults
February 12, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Create a beautiful houseplant arrangement in an 8” bowl. Participants get to choose up to five succulents or foliage plants and their top dressing. Get help from our experts to make a beautiful planter. This workshop has a 20 person limit. Ages 6 and up welcome.

Starting Seeds Indoors 101
February 13, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Let Nick help take the guesswork out of starting seeds indoors. Nick will go over in detail how and when to start your seeds and go over common mistakes that most homeowners face. This workshop has a 30 person limit. All ages welcome.

Pop Bottle Planter
February 19, 11 a.m. – Noon

Come have fun designing a pop bottle planter! Kids will get to pick out their bottle, customize their design and choose their plant. A fun crafting and planting activity! This workshop has a 20 person limit. Ages 4 – 12 welcome.

Hydrangeas 101
February 20, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.
$20

This class will dive into all aspects of hydrangeas. Participants will learn about the different types of hydrangeas that grow in Michigan and where they perform the best. The class will discuss pruning and care for all types of hydrangeas. This workshop has a 30 person limit. All ages welcome.

The Magic Behind Plants for Kids
February 26, 11 a.m. – Noon
Free

This class is meant to be an introduction to the magical world of plants. Nick will teach kids about many of the amazing and interesting things that plants can do. Nick will also give a greenhouse tour. This workshop has a 25 person limit. All ages welcome.

Gardening with Michigan Natives
February 27, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Learn how to create a stunning garden using Michigan natives! Our perennial and native expert, Laurie Medrea will teach everyone about many of the available native varieties and how to use them best. This workshop has a 30 person limit. All ages welcome.

Nick Zimmer

Nick studied horticulture at Michigan State University and has since been sharing his passion and knowledge for plants with others.

Nick and his family proudly run Willow Greenhouse together, bringing a fulfilling gardening experience to the Mid-Michigan community. Enjoy getting to know Jenni Zimmer, Nick’s mother, while she takes memorable greenhouse photos of you and your family during your visit. If you’ve brought your little ones, you’re in luck.

You’ll likely find the Zimmer children, Tessa and Zack, running among the flowers with their mother, Kara, not too far behind—be sure to say hello as they love greeting new customers to their favorite space.
